Today Room 2 made their very own o'clocks as we have been mastering how to tell the time as part of our "measurement" unit in mathematics...we have also been learning about length, mass and volume alongside our calendar maths.
We are a Year 1/2 class at Glen Innes School in Auckland, New Zealand and our teacher is Ms Webster.

Tongan Language week September 3rd - September 9th
The best little school in Glen Innes has a diverse mix of cultures among both the staff and the students. At assembly this week we were lucky enough to be treated to a Tongan showcase put together by the staff and students to celebrate Tongan Language week. Here are some of the highlights, including Mrs Tuakoi dancing!
It's Friday and it's 'Get Set Go'!
Last Friday we celebrated our Inquiry learning around The Three Little Pigs story. But this Friday we were really happy to have Coach Declan from Kelly Sports, teaching us some more awesome games at 'Get Set Go'. We have been focusing on throwing and catching for the past couple of weeks. We have learnt how important it is to watch the ball and have your hands out ready to catch. Everyone enjoys throwing the ball too and we have had the chance to learn both underarm and overarm throws. Next week - dodging!

\Warm up fun for everyone. |

Family Time at the Expo
It was so lovely to see both Jessie's family and Angel's mum come into school last Friday to explore the Expo with their children. Room 2 got the chance to look around the Expo early on Friday morning and really enjoyed the simple machines, designed and made by the Senior classes. All the children from Room 2 simply loved seeing their own work on display in the hall too! Do pop by and see the art work in the hall if you can.

Junior Syndicate Rotation - Rippa fun!
Every Wednesday afternoon each of the Junior classrooms rotates through a variety of activities. These include drama with Mrs Ringwood, cooking with Mrs Goundar, sport with Mr du Toit, music with Ms McCarthy and art with Mr Beel. Each activity offers a different challenge and the chance to try out new activities with another teacher.
This week Room 2 were timetabled for sport with Mr du Toit. They loved completing the Rippa drills and quickly learnt how to twist and dodge out of the way to keep their flags.
